Greenery Wedding Inspiration

When Pantone announced it’s color of the year for 2017 as greenery, I along with everyone else in the industry was ecstatic!  There is so much you can do with greenery & the possibilities are endless.  So when Terri from Love Note Events asked me to join her team for this greenery wedding inspiration I said Yes right away!

The location of the shoot was at the Deukmejian Wilderness Park in Glendale, Ca.  It was the perfect setting and we had an amazing team of vendors.  Terri created this gorgeous floral arch as the main focus and it really made her vision of a romantic greenery wedding come to life.  There were so many cute details like, Creme and Dough’s adorable 2 tiered cake with leaves & hand painted macarons and the pretty vintage tabletop goods from Borrowed Vintage Rentals.  Our Grace Settee and Florence Console Table looked so beautiful with everything & Bluecat Photography did an amazing job of capturing the whole thing.  We all had such a fun time putting it together and I can’t wait to work with these ladies again on the next shoot!

Moody Winter Wedding Inspiration

When Jane from Jane Alexandra Events asked if I wanted to collaborate on this shoot, I was super excited and I was even more excited when she mentioned the theme and location!  The theme was a moody winter wedding inspiration at Frazier Park in the middle of the snowy season.  It was a bit challenging to get all of our rental furniture items out to the location, but once it was all put together everything turned out so beautiful!

Jane & the team of vendors she put together did an amazing job and I’m so thankful to be a part of such a great group of people!  Her vision of a moody winter wedding really came to life and I’m still in awe with the photos that Stefani Ciotti Photography captured!

Enchanted Forest Wedding Inspiration

The inspiration for this shoot is a romantic Fairytale wedding set in the enchanted forest!  I teamed up with an awesome group of vendors and we headed out to the Angeles National Forest.  The weather was a bit cloudy and it rained the last hour or so, but everyone was a trooper and pulled through and we were able to capture beautiful shots.  Being in the forest is quite magical on it’s own so it wasn’t too difficult to create this Fairytale wedding inspiration.

The color scheme was natural wood with metallic silver & gold pieces and accents of deep red & greenery.  Our gold scroll dinner plates, antique silver-plated tea set & red Scarlett chairs were the perfect additions to this holiday styled shoot.  The florals & greenery that Scarlet Blushes created really completed the look as well.  Some of my favorite details are the wine bottle, Mr. & Mrs. ornaments and glass ring box that I had Letters To You write on in pretty calligraphy!  It really added a personal and romantic touch to the shoot.

Our models wore their own clothing, Vivian’s dress was a vintage dress that was perfect for the shoot & I decided to have Patrick wear his tan blazer with black pants & bow tie to give a more vintage/dapper look instead of a traditional one color suit.  They both did their own hair and make-up and both looked stunning!

Everything turned out so beautiful and Mark Martinez Photography did an amazing job of capturing it all!  I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with and can’t wait to team up for another shoot!

Hudson Loft Wedding- R & T

Oh how we love the ultra hip decor for this wedding and how it beautifully came together for a perfect wedding day for Roger and Tritia at the Hudson Loft.  With help from Dorothy Rose Events, Roger and Tritia really captured that urban city feel of Downtown Los Angeles with their design & color choices.  They incorporated so many cute details throughout the space that reflected their personalities perfectly!

Our gold mercury votive candle holders and long stem tealight candle holders were the perfect match for the garlands and floral centerpieces.  Also, our variety of frames & gold ampersand sign looked great at their entrance table!

And to top it all off, Mr & Mrs Creamery had an amazing dessert display with a variety of cakes, icecream pops, macroons, etc.  Not only did it look super cute, but it was delicious too!

Congratulations, Roger and Tritia!

Popup Dinner-Santa Monica Pier

Imagine thousands of people coming together all dressed in white to eat and drink, to let an evening spontaneously unfold & to dance as the stars come out.  That’s what a pop up dinner event is all about and once a year, Handmade Events hosts it at a secret location in Los Angeles.  They provide the setting, tables, chairs and entertainment…all you need to do is show up dressed in white with an amazing picnic, wine, bubbly and table decor.

I’ve attended this event for the past 2 years and this year I thought it would be fun to get a few people together to collaborate on a table & of course to have an amazing evening with great company as well.  The location of this year’s popup was the Santa Monica Pier and our table design was an inspiration of my recent honeymoon to Bali.

We went with a neutral palette with accents of gold and added pops of color with beautiful floral.  As the sun was setting and the candles were glowing, our Bali inspired table transformed into this super romantic dinner party for 6.

Thanks to these lovely ladies & my husband for bringing my vision to life and being a part of such a fun night.  It was truly a magical evening and we definitely had the best table there 😉

How To Style Your Own Party

Styling a party at home doesn’t have to be difficult, it can be as simple as making floral arrangements for your space or creating a focal area such as a beverage station or dessert table.  The idea of decorating might be overwhelming for some people because they’re not sure how to put their ideas together to create a cohesive look, so in this blog post I will give you 5 simple steps for styling your own party.

Figure out the main concept and idea you want for your party.  For example, for this dinner party that I hosted for my Husband’s family visiting us from Holland, I wanted to create a beverage station by using our Quinn console table as the main focus piece.

Step 2

Pick your color direction.  In this case I actually picked up the flowers first, you can never go wrong with white hydrangeas and I just loved the pop of bright green colors from the mums & daisies.  I got all the flowers from my local Trader Joe’s and they ended up determining my color scheme, which I was very happy with because it was perfect for a nice summer party.

Step 3

Find matching accessories to go with your color scheme.  You don’t want to go too overboard with matching everything to ONE color because that would be an overkill.  For example, because I already had my flowers and console table picked out for this party, my final color scheme was going to be white, natural wood, gold/antique brass & bright green.  So to keep with the pops of green color I chose bright green straws, San Pellegrino sparkling bottled water & minted lemonade in our glass drink dispenser.  Clear glass will always work with any color choice and it will help to break up a matchy-matchy color story too.

Step 4

Layering!  What I mean by that is adding extra dimension to your pieces by using another core color fabric or linen.  For example, I used a white napkin draped over our wooden crate and it added a nice pop of white between the wood pieces.

Step 5

Tie it all together by having an anchor piece.  An anchor piece can be anything like: balloons, signs, paper tassel garlands, etc.  For this party, I DIY’d this paper tassel garland because I already had the tissue paper and the colors matched perfectly with my color scheme.  It was a little time consuming but super easy to make, check out this tutorial if you want to try it yourself!  By stringing it up from one side to the other side, it defines the space for the beverage area and really completes the whole look.

I hope these 5 simple steps have given you inspiration for the next party you host.  Just remember to be creative, have fun and your party will be fabulous & Oh So Pretty! 😉

Up, Up and Away Themed Baby Shower

We love how adorable the decor was for this Up, Up and Away themed baby shower at the La Mirada Golf Course & Country Club.  Mercy did a great job of incorporating our rental items into her baby shower and it all came together beautifully!

Who can resist a candy bar this cute?  The aqua, white & gold palette she used was an excellent choice for their new baby boy and fit perfectly with the theme.

Summer Solstice Beach Party

Summer is finally here and we couldn’t have been more excited when our client Cynthia told us she wanted to throw a beach party to celebrate summer solstice!  She organizes this party every summer and decided that she wanted to add more style to her party this year, that’s where we come into the picture-event styling is our specialty!

The location of the party was at Huntington Beach and is the perfect place to have a beach/bonfire party for large groups of people.  The sun was out all day long and even though it was a bit windy at times it was still amazing beach weather.

2.beach party setup

We set up a lounge/game area using our favorite beach accessories and games, including our new bamboo beach chairs, large yard games & inflatable swan.  Our canopy was great for extra shading and also for keeping all of the food and drinks out of the sun as well.  I especially loved the little details, like our Seattle market bag as a beach towel holder and adding a bit of glam to the beach chairs with our gold striped bow pillows.

3.beach party setup food

The party was a potluck, so everyone would bring in different foods and drinks.  But to start off we had sunset sangria & minted lemonade drinks served in our glass beverage dispensers- they were both very good!  And of course, we had all the items you would need for s’mores all set up in our glass trifle bowl for the bonfire later that night.

We set up a nice and intimate seating area around the fire pit for the bonfire.  After a fun day of activities on the beach, Cynthia and her friends will be able to relax and enjoy themselves around the fire pit surrounded by lush pillows and beautiful candlelight!  Now doesn’t that sound wonderful? 😉

5.beach party games

The party was a huge success and was the best way to celebrate summer.  Everyone had a blast with all of our games and especially with our inflatable swan.  Even I had to get in on the fun and take a photo with Ms. Swan too!

Thanks to my Oh So Pretty Events & Rentals team for waking up at the butt crack of dawn to set everything up & thanks to Cynthia for letting us be a part of your fun party!!

It’s a Boy!- A Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Themed Baby Shower

Usually during this time of the year it’s wedding season, but for me it’s baby season!!  Yup, another one of my Best Friends is pregnant so of course I offered to throw her a baby shower too.  This will be her second baby and this time it is a boy, so instead of just doing a traditional “sprinkle” for the second one, I decided to do a full baby shower.  Besides, I think it’s only fair to celebrate all of your babies equally anyway, right? 😉 bizou pasadena

The baby shower was held at this cute French restaurant in Pasadena called Café Bizou.  It also happens to be my Bestie’s favorite restaurant, so it was perfect!

I did a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme with a navy, blue, white & gold color scheme.  I custom designed and made the invitations, menus, place cards, games, signs & favors.  I also had a cute little book for guests to sign and leave sweet messages for the new baby boy, that his parents can read to him every time they read the book.

There were four round tables, so I did two different centerpieces.  One was a cute bow tie & shoe set displayed in our gold rimmed glass boxes and flowers.  The other one was a cute stuffed animal next to our petit ceramic rocking horse planter sitting on top of our gold dot bowl and flowers.  Also a set of gold & white star balloons were at each table as well and really completed the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme perfectly! shower games

I decided to do some of the same games I did for my other Best Friend since they were a lot of fun, but unfortunately we ran out of time and didn’t get a chance to do the play-doh baby game.  The baby face game was a blast though because a lot of the guests were really stumped by who was who and was especially confused with some of the celebrities on the list.  Also, it’s so much fun to see baby photos of the parents to be & their families.

We also had a beautiful candy bar set up for all the guests to enjoy.  Our “it’s a boy” gold mylar balloons were super cute as the center of it all and to stick with the color scheme, I used white & gold candies as well as chocolates.  The one treat that I constantly got comments about were the brookies, which is a hybrid of a cookie and a brownie.  They are super delicious and everyone is now obsessed.  I got them from a small bakery in Duarte called Sweet Nothings.

Congratulations to the second time parents again and we can’t wait to meet your sweet little boy!  It was such a gorgeous baby shower and I couldn’t have done it without my amazing husband of course, we make a great team!  Also thanks to the awesome staff at Café Bizou for being so wonderful.

It’s a Girl!- A Whimsical Themed Baby Shower

When my best friend from childhood announced that she was pregnant, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to throw her a baby shower!  We’ve known each other since the 2nd grade and were even nicknamed “bosom buddies” from one of our High School teachers because we were inseparable.  With her living in Portland, Oregon we only see each other about once a year and planning this baby shower from afar was going to be a little tricky, but I was up for the challenge!

the nines hotel

The baby shower was held at the Urban Farmer restaurant inside The Nines Hotel in Downtown Portland.  I’ve always loved this hotel and usually stop by here for drinks whenever I’m in town, so after researching different places in Portland, this one stood out the most and was the perfect location to host a baby shower.

My friend sent me separate pictures of her and her husband at a young age, both enjoying bath time and asked if I can incorporate them into the shower somehow.  So I did a little photoshopping to make it look like they’re both in the same bathtub and used it for their welcome sign display.  It turned out super cute and they both loved it!

the nines hotel private dining

The space I reserved was “the pantry” room, it was the cutest semi-private dining space and was ideal for our party of 25 guests!  The room was surrounded by pickled jars and had a very urban chic look.  The main focus of the room were our huge 40″ rose gold mylar balloons that spelled out baby with pink paper tassels flanking each side.

baby shower decor

I went with a whimsical theme, so for the centerpieces I used our classic children’s books and placed a small vase of flowers on top with a cute stuffed animal next to it.  Also, with a small nod to the movie “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, were the guests favors; which were pink Mendl’s boxes with sea salt caramel chocolates in them and their “hotel key” name cards- both custom made by me.  I also custom designed and made the invitations and place mats as well.

baby shower games

Since the baby shower was co-ed, I wanted to think of games that would be fun for everyone.  We had the traditional “don’t say baby” game, which was super fun because everyone was really into it and I’ve never been to a baby shower where people were so competitive about getting the most clothespins before, it was hilarious!  Also, another fun game for everyone was the play-doh baby…I wished I took a picture of the completed babies because they were awesome!

We had a three course menu and the food was delicious.  I had the vanilla yogurt panna cotta, brioche french toast and vanilla cake with lemon and strawberries!  All that with a glass of mimosa makes me a very happy girl! 🙂

It was such a beautiful & fun baby shower and I couldn’t be more happier for the new parents!

A special thank you to my husband, Gino for helping me pull this off and also to the staff of Urban Farmer, you guys are amazing!
