Edgy Glam Alice in Wonderland Wedding Inspiration

I love Alice in Wonderland and have been wanting to do a styled shoot around this theme for a long time.  I especially love Tim Burton’s re-make of this classical movie & decided to do a styled shoot that focused on the more edgy side of Alice in Wonderland.  I mixed in elements of glam as well because that is my aesthetic & I also wanted to show real brides how they can use this for their own wedding in real life too.

I chose the Hudson Loft as the venue because I wanted to give it a more editorial, modern look and the sleek loft style backgrounds at Hudson Loft in Downtown Los Angeles fit perfectly.  They also have so many different rooms available that allowed me to create totally different looks in each space too.

The color palette I went with was a mixture of pinks, red, black, gold & greenery.  I mixed in a lot of black elements throughout the shoot to give it more of an edgy vibe.

For the ceremony, I had Letters to You create a large laser cut calligraphy sign of a Lewis Carroll quote “Every adventure requires a first step” & had Scarlet Blushes put garland vines around it as the centerpiece of the space.  I wanted to create a whimsical garden in the middle of this modern loft, so I had With Love Graciela create these super fun paper flowers to go down the entire aisle & to complete the look I used MTB Event Rental’s gorgeous gold infinity chairs for seating.

For the escort table, I used our Florence console table & had these pretty gold pearl knobs from Anthropologie as the name card holders.  I had Letters to You write another quote on this black petrified wood cheese board from West Elm and it looked so beautiful with everything.

One of my favorite settings was our gold bar cart where the cake was displayed.   Scarlet Blushes did an amazing job with creating this floral chandelier installation & the cake that Sweet Nothings Cake Shop made was to die for!!

For the reception table setting, I used the black petrified wood cheese boards from West Elm as chargers & vintage gold and white dinnerware from Otis and Pearl.  Each place setting had mini cakes topped with caramel & flowers by Sweet Nothings Cake Shop and blush chiffon napkins from A Ribbon’s Nest.

For the groom’s outfit, I wanted him to wear something more fun & non-traditional, so I found this beautiful floral blazer from Asos and he wore his own black pants, shirt and shoes.

The bride’s 1st outfit was a mix of a white lace dress from Chicwish & a custom tulle skirt made by me.  I added a pink leather belt with a rhinestone bow to give her a sweet, but edgy look.  I had Ashley Herron do her hair with lots of long flowing waves with half of it up in a high pony tail with a black silk ribbon bow from A Ribbon’s Nest and for makeup, I had Cecilia Soto create a soft neutral look.

For her 2nd outfit, I created this super fun cage dress that gave the shoot a more whimsical feel.  A nod, to when Alice falls through the rabbit hole and everything turns into a fantasy adventure!  Also, I had her hair and makeup changed to go with it as well, so Ashley pulled her hair back into a messy low bun & Cecilia gave her a smokey eye and darker lipstick.  It’s hard to believe, but I actually made this dress out of white poster board paper, I also added boning at the waist area in order to hold up all the flowers I put on it.  It took many hours to create it and even more hours of re-adjusting and fixing it, but in the end it was all worth it when I got the pictures back from Mark Martinez Photography, who did such an awesome job of capturing everything!

This styled shoot was a dream to work on and I have to thank all the amazing vendors that were involved, they really brought my vision to life and I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.

Greenery Wedding Inspiration

When Pantone announced it’s color of the year for 2017 as greenery, I along with everyone else in the industry was ecstatic!  There is so much you can do with greenery & the possibilities are endless.  So when Terri from Love Note Events asked me to join her team for this greenery wedding inspiration I said Yes right away!

The location of the shoot was at the Deukmejian Wilderness Park in Glendale, Ca.  It was the perfect setting and we had an amazing team of vendors.  Terri created this gorgeous floral arch as the main focus and it really made her vision of a romantic greenery wedding come to life.  There were so many cute details like, Creme and Dough’s adorable 2 tiered cake with leaves & hand painted macarons and the pretty vintage tabletop goods from Borrowed Vintage Rentals.  Our Grace Settee and Florence Console Table looked so beautiful with everything & Bluecat Photography did an amazing job of capturing the whole thing.  We all had such a fun time putting it together and I can’t wait to work with these ladies again on the next shoot!

Moody Winter Wedding Inspiration

When Jane from Jane Alexandra Events asked if I wanted to collaborate on this shoot, I was super excited and I was even more excited when she mentioned the theme and location!  The theme was a moody winter wedding inspiration at Frazier Park in the middle of the snowy season.  It was a bit challenging to get all of our rental furniture items out to the location, but once it was all put together everything turned out so beautiful!

Jane & the team of vendors she put together did an amazing job and I’m so thankful to be a part of such a great group of people!  Her vision of a moody winter wedding really came to life and I’m still in awe with the photos that Stefani Ciotti Photography captured!
